my project leads can't assign their own projects to version. They have PL profile and read access to his own elements. Even they are entered as manager in project.
It only works, If I grant read access to all projects, not only to their projects
... and grant access for form Projects.
What's wrong in my enviroment? :unsure:

Project leaders will be able to connect version to project only if they can have access to version screen.
They have access. But they didn't get displayed projects.
Could you explain how you try to do : from Version or from Project ?
I just tried both but could not reproduce issue.
My manager can add project to version : list is excatly what he has visibility to.
In his list of available projects (top left on screen), the project he indends to select is available.
- - Permissions: no access to form Projects
- - access mode to date "only his own projects
- - profile code "PL"
Steps of my external project managers are:
- Selecting form Versions
- Selecting dedicated version
- clicking on "+" to link project to version
- clicking on field projects and open selection box
- selecting project **)
**) But at this point of actions, he didn't see the list of projects.
Only way to enable this access is, to grant permission for form Projects AND "read access mode to all projects".
But may be you can describe permissions needed to see the list. Then I would give them a trial.

I'm sure if you set permission to view project form, all will be OK.
Now, I understand this is not expected behaviour.
Maybe security is too resctictive here.

I cannot reproduce this issue.
Resource manager is Project Leader :
Cannot see project Form :
Has simple Reader visibility to Projects
Can correctly add all his affected Projecs to Version to
Same list as selectable projects
All is correct.
What is different in your configuration ?
Can you check you don't have an error in the log file ?
